To those Responsible for cultural and educational structures

Ladies and gentlemen, The Association "Musique Evenements" was started three years ago. Its aim is to sustain and develop music teaching in West Africa and primarily in LOME (TOGO). Along with the many and diverse humanitarian organisations out there, we have made a rather different choice : to work in the field of culture. We are convinced that food and medical aid have to work in partneship with FOOD for the MIND.

The music school in LOME now has eight pupils. Thanks to gifts, so far roughly thirty (30) instruments have been collected and dispatched to TOGO.
Developing on site a workshop for makers of musical instruments will help with repairing and refurbishing these instruments and will allow children on the waiting list to start their musical apprenticeship.
Right from its inception the Association's philosophy has been a simple one : to allow the various populations to "feed " off one another thanks to their differences.A course in Percussion and African dances was started in the first year as well as a team of French teachers bringing their knowledge to youngsters of LOME.
We have set out very clear aims ; to help and encourage the teaching team in LOME without imposing our european knowledge :


- Receiving instruments, dispatching them and supervising repairs.
- Give support and help to the teaching team, when asked.
- Reward the work of the teachers and help them to live with dignity.
- Promote traditional Togolese music.
- Allow the population of Lomé to have music lessons, not free but at a reasonable cost.
- Counsel and help the teachers by providing them with teaching and financial material.

Now that the idea is maturing a first stage has taken root. The demand is huge and if we want a maximum number of children to receive this musical teaching we need to be helped. That is why we suggest to all cultural and educational structures interested in this project to sponsor the Association "Musique-Evènements" in order that we may prosper.

 

Sponsor the school, mentor a child

A school, an orchestra, a library, an association, a donator can by their action sponsor our school or an orphan so that they can pursue a musical training.
For a presentation of the association we are providing you with 14 explanatory panels as well as two big posters.

You pledge to promote our Association once every year during your concerts or special events. To have at the end a special Collection for "MUSIQUE-EVENEMENTS".

THE ASSOCIATION :
We take part in your first production to introduce our Association, to make the sponsorship official. We give you a symbolic present specifically made for you. We keep you regularly informed of our progress. We promote you on our web site www.musiquevenements.com announce your events.
